Throughout November and December 2009 Rachel Gannon of INK Illustration visited patients on the older adult wards at the Royal London Hospital with Vital Arts and the support of Kensington Palace's The last debutants. 1958. Season of change exhibition, recording stories told by the patients about when they felt they were best dressed. Postcards of the illustrations will be distributed to all those who participated and Rachel will be exhibition full size prints at this exhibition.

Christmas window display
We displayed the window at Tender Product collaborated with Bobby Dazzler and Jill.

The Big Draw work shop
We ran the workshop as a part of the Big Draw festival on 31st October. We created The Silhouette Circus and asked people to participate in creating characters by drawing and then cutting them out of black paper to then be included in the silhouette circus.

Young Illustrators Award 2009 | Deadline 30th September 2009
The Swatch Young Illustrators Award is a unique competition awarding creativity and innovation in personal contemporary illustration and graphics. The award encourages and supports designers in their artistic practice and offers an international and worldwide recognized platform to them. Illustrative art works, art projects with graphic influences, animations and book art objects qualify for submission.
The nominees of the Swatch Young Illustrators Award will be invited to Berlin and get the opportunity to exhibit their work at Illustrative 2009 in Berlin. The winners await prizes worth 6.000 Euros as well as publications and illustration agency contracts and will also be featured in future international shows. One winner will be invited to design a Swatch Watch – a great opportunity to join the ranks of artists such as Kiki Picasso, Pedro Almodóvar, Robert Altman and Keith Haring.
The nominees will be awarded by an international jury consisting of leading art directors, experts and editors of graphic and design magazines.
The call for the Swatch Young Illustrators Award opens in June and continues till the end of September 2009. An international jury decides in October about each of the category’s winners.

Reading Books That Don't exisit
Author David Barnett discusses the Invisible Library on the Guardian Book Blog.
"Last year I threw a (very well-attended, it has to be said) imaginary party round at my metaphysical pad where we discussed books that didn't exist outside other works of fiction.
Now, as is often the case with fictional things, these imaginary books have leaked into the real world, courtesy of the "illustration collective" INK..."

by INK. The Invisible Library will ask best selling writers, cultural and musical figures, and gallery attendees to write the opening or closing page of a ‘hidden novel.’
Each book cover is not only the beginning of a story,
but also a personal journey and porthole into the imagination.
INK invited the literary foundation Real Fits to collaborate with workshops. Together, INK and Real Fits will host a programme combining illustration, creative writing, reportage and music.
The four-week schedule of workshops and events reaches out to a diverse age-range of individuals.
